Easter Gift Idea

Leading up to Easter all of our family members requested we didn’t waste money buying them Easter eggs. We still wanted to give them something so decided to make them a gift instead. For most of them we made chocolate truffles and for the super health conscious we made raw lemon bliss balls. We purchased the cute boxes $1 for 6 and printed out a template of a bunny to cut around and give the boxes an Easter feel. Everyone was a lot more excited and appreciative of these, so much so that I have received two text messages today thanking us for them.

We have decided that this will be our new Easter tradition as not only did everyone appreciate it, but we saved a lot of money and ended up spending about $6 in total.

I hope you had a happy Easter! J

Gift Idea: Personalised Dictionary Cushion

Leading up to Christmas I spent A LOT of time on the internet searching new gift ideas for my friends and family. I came across a fantastic cushion on Hampson Homewares for my Nanna, however we had a budget of $30.

I searched to see if there were any cheaper options, but didn’t find any and unfortunately it is far beyond my expertise to make. In the end I went on to ebay and searched personalised cushions and contacted Cherieroyale. I sent her a copy of the cushion and asked if she would be able to make something similar for me. Cherieroyale was amazing and made a similar cushion for $25.95. She emailed me the draft of what she was doing and delivered it within the week.

The cushion that I gave to my Nanna is smaller than the Hampson Homewares cushion and probably not as good quality but my Nanna didn’t know any of that and was absolutely thrilled to receive it!

Gift Idea: Personalised Novels

My mum loves books, but for Christmas I didn’t want to just get her a book I wanted to get her something a bit more special. Her favourite movie is The Wizard of Oz and through my many hours spent on the internet leading up to Christmas I came across a personalised copy of the book. I put the name of my mum and family members in the book and ordered it for her.

Despite finding it a bit difficult to read without bursting into regular fits of laughter she absolutely loved the thoughtfulness of the gift. It reminded her of when she had done it for us when we were younger.

You can order the book from Ustarnovels, there are also other books available to personalise.
